Let's spend a day in the Tatra Mountains.
Day trip to Morskie Oko (The Eye of the Sea), to one of the most popular and beautiful places to visit in the mountains.
Morskie Oko- an emerald-green mountain lake, about 20km southeast of the centre of Zakopane.
Morskie Oko covers about 35 hectares in all (the largest lake in the Tatra mountains), stretching some 862 metres in length, 566 meters in breadth and some parts plunging to depths of 50 m.
The lake is entered through a small pass, and once inside, you are entirely surrounded by the mountains. It is very much as if you are in a huge crater, and hence the name, the eye of the sea. The prospect of the surrounding mountains is stunning.
A little effort is needed, because total time walk, take around 5-7 hours (depending on ability). You'll have to hike up using a wide tarmac trail for 9 km (6 mi) or hitch a ride on a horse cart. Cars, bikes, and buses are not allowed.
Well just see for yourself!
Zakopane is a charming town situated at the foot of the majestic Tatra mountains. One of the most famous tourist destinations in Poland.
It is Poland's smallest national park. The park is very famous for its numerous caves. Ojców National Park is characterized by deep valleys, steep hillsides and a variety of rock formations.
